health is wealth

I’m trying to design an exercise plan as well as a food plan in order to win the biggest loser challenge me and my poker friends have. It’s tempting to just buy one of those best diet pills but I want to work hard on this. It’s much sweeter winning without cheating. I have often gotten whatever I set my heart on. It’s about time I really pursue getting healthier. I’m not getting any younger. I really need to prioritize my health. It’s about time I really focus on it.

antipolo tradition

Every 30th of December the whole family from my father’s side goes to Antipolo to hear mass, have lunch at Hinulugang Taktak, go to megamall, then go to star city (or MOA). I think we’ve been doing this for over 10 years already. It’s a pretty nice tradition to keep since it’s always nice when the whole family gets together. Even if it’s a bit hard since most of them comes from Batangas but we manage to observe the tradition.

antipolo tradition (2)

Our antipolo tradition would start of by hearing mass, then lighting some candles and praying our petitions, then going up to touch the dress of the statue. Sometimes we would buy some rosaries, novenas, crucifix, or statues then have them blessed.
By the time we reach the exit of the church’s gate, we are already swamped with sellers of suman and cashew nuts! Each seller usually offer free taste and vouch that theirs taste the best. I love cashew nuts! Their suman also tastes good. You can really taste that they’re freshly made and not already stored for a long time already.

antipolo tradition (3)

Then we would go to Hinulugang Taktak, riding the rented big jeepney that they got (so that everybody would fit in). Well, nowadays some would bring an extra car since some have babies and little kids in tow already. It’s just funny that no matter how many times we’ve been to Hinulugang Taktak, we still manage to get lost every year!

antipolo tradition (4)

Unfortunately, Hinulugang Taktak is not that clean anymore. You can see trash all over. For the last few years, we don’t go down anymore near the falls, but just rent out tables outside. It’s usually just a simple feast of adobo, itlog na maalat with kamatis, fried chicken, pinakbet, and inihaw na bangus. For some reason that’s what we usually eat there almost every year!
