gift giving

We all had fun at our office kris kringle. Every week we had a theme for the gifts. The last one had no theme, but it has to be worth at least two hundred pesos. I was thinking of giving a useful office supply or anything useful in particular. It’s quite a challenge to think about what gift to give. It’s a good thing that eventually we decided to have a gift wish list instead. It’s so much easier and you’re assured that the person you picked would love the gift that you’ll be giving

no plans yet

We still do not have a definite plan for our honeymoon yet. It really all depends on the schedule of our training for my work. Since I’m assigned to Davao, Cebu, Bohol, and Palawan, I just might as well take advantage of my trips there. I’ll just probably extend my stay until the weekends when my sweetie can join me. Well, we would also want to spend honeymoon abroad and maybe try out some hotels new orleans or some other place, just as long as it’s abroad. My sweetie hasn’t gone out of the country yet so it would certainly be a nice experience for both of us.

holiday bingeing

I’m sure weight loss pills are in demand these days, especially with all the holiday parties coming up! Usually around this time, party schedules are lined up already. With all the reunions and Christmas parties with friends and relatives, it’s so hard to stick to a good diet. With all the good food prepared, it’s just so hard to say no. It’s quite a challenge to lose weight at this time of the year.

walking

It’s less than two months to go. I’m really hoping I would fit in my gown. I’ve given up a bit that I would lose weight before the wedding. My hormones are just crazy and not a big help at all. But I’m still trying to limit my food intake as well as walk as much as I could. I can’t afford going to the gym and try out the dip machine and use the elliptical so I’m really just settling for walking instead.

logistics planning

There’s still a lot to think about our wedding. I have yet to make a fool proof plan for the logistics on our wedding day. Since I’m the bride this time, I wouldn’t be able to give much instructions on the day so I really have to plan everything out before had. It’s getting a bit stressful. I know I should try to take it easy or else I would have to take some wrinkle cream already. We only got around two months to go!

investment

Where do you invest your money? There are numerous options, but I guess one would be limited with the amount of money that you’re willing to invest and the level of risk that you are most comfortable with. Before investing, one should consider all factors and evaluate which option you could have optimal returns. There really are a lot of options like mutual funds and private placement memorandum services. It’s really up to you where you would want to place your money.

nice places

There are a lot of nice places all over the world. My sweetie and I enjoy imagining the different places tat would be nice to visit. If only we have the money, we would certainly travel the world and visit those nice places just like santo domingo in the Dominican Republic. There are places which are not so popular yet very much worthy to be visited.

2012

I'm excited to watch the movie 2012! I still have to convince my sweetie to watch it in a real movie house rather than opt to wait for it to have a nice down loadable copy at torrent. Yes, we would usually just download from torrent since it's much cheaper that way. But I would opt to watch in a real movie house if the film has lots of special effects. One would better appreciate it watching in a big movie house with a good sound system

cross country

I miss going out of the country. I have only done it once. If only I have lots of money, I would really take time to travel the world and discover new places. I actually want to experience living in another country for at least a month or two. It may be a bit of a hassle finding cross country moving companies but I think the experience would really be awesome!

decorating our home

I get excited whenever I think about decorating the possible condo unit that we’ll (most probably) buy. I would love to put pieces of furniture with extra functions in order to optimize the small space. We would have to make space for a home theater! Well, I just hope we get to earn and save up (a lot!) for all of these plans! Sometimes I just can’t help but wish that we just win the lottery so we wouldn’t be stressed so much thinking of our finances.

approved

II’m so happy for my dad whose US visa application got approved! Finally! He has been waiting for this for a long time already. He already applied before but got denied. It’s really great that he now has a US visa so he can travel with my mom hopefully next year. He still has some free miles that he can avail and would soon be expiring. I guess it’s time to take out his Eagle Creek luggage and plan for his travel.

another work week

It's another work week and all I can think about is getting some extra sleep! It's extra hard to wake up in the morning since it's relatively cold already. I really wish I can just take a week-long vacation so I can rest and finish all my wedding preps tasks. Oh well. Anyway, I do hope I get to accomplish everything that I need to do.

lasik

It’s amazing how lasik surgery can immediately correct your eye sight. It’s amazing how fast they do the procedure. I have watched one done on TV and the patient was really happy and content with the result. lasik surgery Mexico has to offer is advertised to be very affordable. Well, there are a lot of hospitals offering this kind of service. If you are having eye sight problems, maybe it’s about time you undergo lasik.

car insurance rates

I wonder how much car insurance rates are right now. I think after the series of typhoons and floods, with cars being submerged under water, a lot of car owners wished that they have insurance. It’s not enough actually to just have any kind of insurance. It would be better if your insurance includes acts of god. It’s really so much better if you got your back covered no matter what happens. You wouldn’t want your car go to waste if something terrible happens to it.

I’m sure a lot of car owners are getting car insurance rates quotes and reassessing their car insurance plans. You would want to have maximum coverage. Well, we don’t really have a car so I’m not so much affected about these issues, but hopefully we’ll have a car soon. It’s great that there are sites which can help you compare car insurance rates so you could better decide which one to get.

weight loss

As the wedding comes near, the more I feel inclined to try out a weight loss pill. I guess what’s only stopping me is the fear of having those adverse side effects. I’ve heard of getting heart palpitations and liver damages. I wouldn’t want to experience those. The best way really is the natural way. The clock is ticking, I don’t think I can make it on time.

coin dealer

It really is fascinating to know that a small piece of metal could be such a great asset to most people. Take the case, for example of the 1933 Double Eagle gold coin. One of these have been sold in an auction at the incredibly staggering price of 7.5 million dollars. Around 445,500 pieces of these were minted back in the day. However, all were ordered melted by President Theodore Roosevelt because of the Great Depression. Mysteriously, around 20 of these coins still exist today. Kings, secret agents, rich heirs and coin dealer have had these and thus added to its grandiose history. No wonder it’s the most expensive coin in the world.

weight issues

It’s only less than 4 months before my wedding. I have barely lost any weight. I’ve been so stressed with work and other stuff lately and whenever that happens I would usually over eat. I wonder what’s the best weight loss pill out there which would give a fast result without causing any side effect. Of course it also needs to be affordable! Oh well. I know my sweetie loves me and assures me that even if I don’t lose weight (or even gain more), that he’ll always love me. Of course it’s sweet to hear but then again, I still want to lose weight for health purposes. I want to be healthy so that when I get pregnant, the chances of other pregnancy risks would be lower.

swamped

I’m swamped with things to do. Sometimes I wonder if there’s just too much stuff to do or my time management skills are at a low. Sometimes I feel old already. I don’t have as much energy as I used to. A friend even used to call me an energizer bunny. I miss those good old days when I’m much more productive and I can multi-task a lot of stuff.

vacation

We haven’t really planned out our honeymoon yet because of budget constraints. It would be so much fun to go on a weeklong vacation! We have a lot of places in mind actually. If only we have lots of money, we would probably go to Paris, or do a European tour, or go on a cruise, or probably try out that romantic vacation riviera maya that we’ve always been reading about. There really are a lot of places to go to but the budget is really a big constraint. Let’s just see what we can come up with. I don’t actually mind wherever we are going. I just really want to spend some quality time with my sweetie.

excited

I’m excited to get pregnant, but at the same time frightened as well. It’s just fun to think about having your own baby but the responsibility somehow scares me. Of course no mom wants to screw up in taking care of their children as they grow up. Unfortunately, a lot of parents do screw up. I don’t want to be one of those. Anyway, I just want to enjoy the ride. I’m so ready to go through this next chapter of my life.

gowns

I need to finalize the gown designs already. It takes so much of my time browsing through sites and looking for sample pictures and short listing which ones to choose from. This part of the wedding preparations is the least that I like. I’m really not a fashionable person and I’m not so much into clothes. I’m really more of the comfy type of person and not the stylish one. Oh well. I hope I get to choose designs that would look nice on my entourage. Of course I would get their approval first so they’d love what they’d wear on my wedding.

paintball

Where do you buy those Paintball goggles? It’s amazing how paintball fanatics have really invested in their own full gear. Of course they are considering keeping them safe while playing, thus buying parts to protect their bodies. Well, I hope I can try it out and play paintball. It would certainly be a great experience for me. It’s a team effort though so it would be nice to belong to a team with a great game plan to ensure winning the game. I wonder where we can play paintball. It would be so fun to play this game with my sweetie. I’m sure he would enjoy it as well.

almost ready

We’re almost ready to go! We’ve basically booked all the suppliers. The major pending task right now would be dealing with the gowns. By the end of the month, we can already apply for a marriage license. There are a lot of small tasks that needs to be done but I’m glad that my sweetie helps out whenever he can. I’m just really glad that I was able to get to know the different wedding suppliers which helped me a lot in deciding which ones to choose.

guestbook

I’m happy to finish our D-I-Y guestbook for the wedding! I printed out some questions on a nice decorated board which follows our beach theme. I’m excited to read how our guests would answer the questions. We would be distributing this to each guest so that they would have something to do while waiting for us at the reception venue since we would still be having a pictorial at Camp Aguinaldo after the ceremony.

disney

We’re hoping we could get those Disney Tickets for our honeymoon vacation! It would be fun spending the whole day with my sweetie in Disneyland! It would really be great for him to experience going to Disneyland! I’ve been there once and would want to go back again since a day just seems not enough to go around Disney. I really hope we could finalize our honeymoon plans already. We’re still not sure if we can afford going out of the country for our honeymoon vacation. I really hope we could travel far. It’s always nice to travel with the one you love. I can’t help but get excited just thinking about it.

changing weather

It's amazing how the weather could change so fast. One minute it's so hot outside with the sun shining so brightly. Then one moment it would start to rain so hard. And then after a few minutes, the sun would show itself again. It's just so crazy. It's really suggested never to leave the house without an umbrella. It pays to be prepared or you just might get soaked or fried.

Divisoria

We need to go to divisoria soon so we can talk to the one who would make my bridal gown as well as the gowns of the entourage. It’s so much cheaper to have them all made there. What’s good about them is that they do home service so the whole entourage wouldn’t have to go to Divisoria anymore. We plan to take the measurements and do all the fitting at our house so it would be convenient for everybody.

diet

I have tried going on a diet for so many times already. I guess it doesn’t help that I get stressed at work, which makes me crave so much for food to pamper myself. It’s only a couple more weeks before I get my measurements for my gown. Well, I’ve almost given up home in losing weight. It’s great that my sweetie ensures me how much he loves me no matter if I gain more weight. But of course we both would like to lose weight more of for health purposes and not just for aesthetics purposes.

RV

Do you love traveling? Do you love going on road trips? Well, maybe it would be great to have your own RV. That would be so cool to bring when going on road trips! I would want one if I have the money! Well, for those who are looking for a site which sell motorhome, you can visit rvt.com. They have lots of options out there. You would probably get to find one which you would really like.

motorcycle

My cousin has been riding a motorcycle for years already. Of course it still alarms us since we all know that there’s really a high risk of getting into an accident when driving a motorcycle. Well, we all just hope that he would always keep safe when riding. He always ensures that his motorcycle is in tiptop shape. He even bought a motorcycle jack so he can inspect his motorcycle more meticulously.

random quizzes

One of our consultants is also a faculty of the IE department in UP. It’s funny when he starts quizzing us if we still remember all the IE stuff we have (supposedly) learned in college. Sometimes he would randomly ask us about queuing, order fulfillment, project management, quality, etc. Well, unfortunately, some I really couldn’t remember, just like who Taylor is and his contributions to IE! Oh well.

Sunday, September 13, 2009

fully booked

We all look forward to weekends when we can (supposedly) be free from work and get that much needed rest. Well, it looks like my weekends are already fully booked for the weeks to come because of all the wedding related stuff we need to do as well as all the extra time I would need to devote to work. Unfortunately, our project is around a month late already. By this time we should have been able to launch the pilot survey at Cebu already. Oh well. I guess I have to be in super woman mode again in order to finish everything that needs to be done.

shoe hunting

Men rarely go shopping, but when they do, they usually spend so much! Buying men’s shoes can be equivalent to a couple of pairs of shoes already for women! Anyway, my sweetie plans to do some last minute shopping for his shoes before our wedding. He still doesn’t know what type of shoes to get. I was trying to suggest some Dansko shoes I saw online. Well, more or less it would be something he can wear more regularly. He’s just too lazy to do some window shopping for the mean time.

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

sale

I am trying to control myself from giving in to the temptation of splurging on shopping. It is quite a challenge especially when your favorite store is on sale. Oh well. I hope I get to hold up until the wedding is over. Sometimes when I’m so stressed from work, it’s so tempting to go on a retail therapy! Well, I just really have to discipline myself and find other venues I can release my stress.

no break outs please

I haven’t been getting decent sleep lately. It’s really hard when I need to finish a lot of things that I need to stay up pretty late to finish them. I’m hoping I don’t get any breakouts when the wedding is near already. I just might end up getting an acne treatment or something. Anyway, I’m trying to take things easy and just trying to increase my productivity instead of increasing my work hours. Hopefully we get to meet the deadline without sacrificing the quality of our work.

ensure weight loss

We’ve been having series of meetings with our consultants. Almost every day, we would order food for everybody. I feel like I gained a couple of more pounds again because of all the food being provided. I just might need to take some of those fat burner pills to ensure weight loss in time for the wedding. Oh well. I just hope after finishing this upcoming deliverable I would be able to finally push through with my planned regular walking/jogging session.

visiting the province

It was a great time to visit our province yesterday. It was the 2nd time I will be bringing my sweetie, the 1st time since we got engaged. It was the perfect time to invite my relatives to our wedding. Everything went well. I had time to tour my sweetie as well and show him my uncle's airstrip. He enjoyed looking at the planes, as well as watching some hobbyists play with their toy planes. Hopefully we can go back soon and spend more time with my relatives

family vacation

I am craving for some family vacation. With my father, who has been working abroad for the longest time, has finally decided to retire and stay home, I think it’s a great idea to just hang out at the beach and have a great family vacation. I can’t remember the last time we went to the beach as a family. I think when we were still young; the father side of my family would have get-togethers and would hire a private pool where we can lounge at. I always looked forward to summers for that. Hopefully we’ll have a family vacation to look forward to pretty soon!

Hoping for my turn soon

Shocks, with my best friend getting pregnant again, it makes me want to have a baby so much more right now! Hahaha! I know that in a couple of months my sweetie and I will get married already. It's just a couple of more months of waiting then we can make all the babies we can make! Hahaha! Oh well. Being a mother is really my ultimate dream. I hope I'll be a good one.

another baby

I'm so happy and excited for my 2 bestest friends who are having another baby! I know that they've been wanting to have another one already since their son would be turning 3 already by next year. It's really such a great news! I'm super happy for them! I really hope that it would be a baby girl this time. Congrats Andrea and Ramil!

enough for now

Planning for a wedding can really be costly. I really hope we'll still have enough money to at least furnish the house we would potentially be renting. We would probably postpone for the mean time buying our own place (hopefully not for long). We may not have our dream house yet, a fancy car, walk in tubs, and all the fine things in life, but what matters is that my sweetie and I would be able to start our own family already. That would be enough for now.

eye bags

I’ve been an insomniac for the longest time. Now that I’m back to an 8-5 work shift, I’m really having a hard time adjusting my sleeping schedule. I still get to sleep late but now needs to wake up very early. It sucks though, but it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make just so we’ll have enough money to pay for the wedding. I just really hope I wouldn’t have too much eye bags by that time. I might probably need to find the best eye cream as early as now. Anyway, I’m just waiting for January. After the wedding, I will finally achieve my dream of being a full time housewife! Hahaha!

Monday, July 20, 2009

try and try

We still got a couple of months before our next weigh in for the biggest loser challenge my friends and I are having. I know it’s so much tempting to just use one of those cheap diet pills but somehow I really want to change my lifestyle into a healthier one. Well, it’s just a bit hard and I don’t think I’m making significant progress. Sometimes I’d be such a good health-conscious person then I would sometimes trip and end up indulging once again. Oh well. I’ll just keep on trying until I get good at this.

new car

My aunt is planning to buy a car pretty soon. Part would probably be shouldered by the company she works in. In the first place, she’s in the sales department. She really needs a car to go around when doing business. I know she gets a big commission so she probably won’t be having a hard time paying it off. It’s been long overdue so I hope she gets to have her car pretty soon.

I know she drives pretty well already. I just don’t know if she knows all the other stuff about cars – like changing a flat tire and all those maintenance stuff she needs to keep in mind, and not to forget, getting a car insurance. She’s a bit prone to accidents so getting a car insurance is really a must for her. She actually used to drive a motorcycle so I guess driving a car for her would be so much easier and safer as well.

collecting coins

It would be great to be able to find a rare coin out of nowhere. If you really get lucky, it may actually cost a fortune! I wonder how much those rare coins costs? I know some really collect that stuff and consider them as investments. Of course, as the years go by, their value appreciates. I know someone in the family collects coins, I just can’t remember if it was my grandfather. Oh well. If you are one of those who are into collecting rare coins and looking for information about it, I suggest that you visit zoomcoin.com. I hope you find all the information you are looking for in that site.

apidexin

Have you tried out Apidexin? It’s one of those diet pills that claim to be effective. I have been reading some of those diet pills review but I have yet to find one which is really in the bag! Of course I want one which is all natural, no adverse side effects, and is inexpensive enough to take regularly. I have a couple of months to go before the wedding. I hope to lose a couple more pounds at least since I know it’s impossible to reach my ideal weight by then.

updates

Shocks, I haven't been true to my supposed resolution to update this blog more often. *sigh* lately, there's been too much to do with so little time. Here's the summary of what I've been up to this past few days/weeks

*July 1 - started working again for UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation Inc at UP NEC. Our project is all about the basic education resources in the Philippines. (i'll try to blog more about this soon) Anyway, this means having an 8-5 job again (after more than 2 years!) so I need to adjust again to having a regular schedule and waking up early. Buti na lang it's just in UP so it's relatively near our house.

*July 4 - had my engagement ring resized (looking forward to getting it soon - i miss it already! hehe!)

*July 11 - Sean's 1st Birthday

*July 12 - went to lamesa ecopark with fiance for some pictorial. It was just the two of us and just made use of a tripod for taking pictures together.

*I've also been tutoring a pisay student every M,W,Th to earn extra money

*I'm still doing some paid blogging stuff

*We've also been busy with the wedding planning...we've done a lot na actually (will post more on this soon - i have yet to make a separate blog about this)

Anyway, with the regular day job I have plus other rackets on the side and all the wedding planning we've been doing, it's been pretty tiring. I hope I get to adjust soon. I don't get to rest much on weekends as well since that's the only time my sweetie is home (he's in Laguna during weekdays for work). Weekends are usually for wedding stuff preps that we need to do - either going to wedding expos or meeting up with some suppliers, etc...

starting from scratch

My sweetie is renting a place in Laguna already but we are certainly going to look for another one when we’re married. The place he has now isn’t entirely nice to live at. He actually rarely sleeps there and just uses it when he has to take a bath. It’s actually more of a locker room for him. Even if he has a bed there, he prefers sleeping in their office resting room where it’s more comfortable. Anyway, I’ excited to find a place for us. I don’t mind starting from scratch in furnishing and decorating the house. I’m actually excited in picking whether to get a Danze faucet or some other brand or determining what type of light fixtures to install. Well, I’m really just hoping that we would have enough budget to do all those.

sick sweetie

I pity my sweetie who's sick now. I hope it's not swine flu! He has a fever since early sunday and still getting the chills until now. I've been urging him to go visit their company doctor so he would know how to treat himself. It sucks that he's in Laguna and I can't be with him to take care of him. He's like a little boy when he's sick! After a lot debating he finally went to get a check up. I hope he gets well soon with the meds the doctor gave him.

icing on the cake

June 21, 2009
53rd monthsary
Sofitel

We were just supposed to deliver some chocolate orders for a wedding at sofitel... he invited me to take a stroll, overlooking the bay... we stopped at a nice spot ...he started fumbling with his digicam (to supposedly video the whole thing) ...then his cousin suddenly called to invite us for lunch (which somehow got him off his momentum) ...then he picked up the pace and put on some music using his cell phone (you are the love of my life) ...then started professing his love ...i started getting teary eyed ...he knelt down ...then suddenly his camera went out of memory space when he was just about to take off the ring from the box! (hehe!) ...didn't matter ...of course i said yes!!! :)

happiness!!!

motorcycle accidents

It’s unfortunate to learn about those motorcycle accidents happening every so often. Riding motorcycles can really be very dangerous. I would even discourage friends to ride them if they can help it. Or at least be very careful when riding them and to not forget to wear a helmet. Anyway, if you are one of those who got into an accident while riding your motorcycle, it would be better to get a lawyer who specializes on cases like that like a San Jose motorcycle accident attorney. I’m sure there are local lawyers out there who have lots of experiences with these kinds of cases.

mojo

I have so many backlogs again. I wonder why I don’t feel like blogging lately. Am I getting saturated? Or am I just really getting addicted to facebook that I barely get to do the stuff that I should really be doing? Well, I refuse to admit the latter. Anyway, I hope I get to finish all my backlogs and probably even do some advance postings so that my blogs would have new content every few days. I hope I get my blogging mojo back!

planning

Yes, we are starting to plan our wedding already. The financial aspect is making my head hurt so bad. Oh well. Sometimes I just want to get it over with and just focus on the marriage and putting up our own family! Anyway, I vow to just enjoy the wedding planning. I know there are a million things that I should think about. It’s a good thing that I have wedding planning experiences so hopefully this should be a bit easier. Anyway, we’re still deciding on the main aspects like the church, reception venue, caterer, and photo/video suppliers. Of course there are still the small details to think about like the invitations, bridesmaid gifts, guest souvenirs, bridal car, flowers, etc. The list just goes on and on. Oh well. I hope we get to maintain our sanity while planning for our own wedding.

switching doctors

It's really hard when you don't see the same doctor whenever you go for a consultation.

I was scheduled to go for a consultation with a specific doctor. I went on the date she specified to me, but it turns out, she had a convention that day and she wouldn't be there, thus having to consult with her reliever instead.

Anyway, I did everything the reliever doctor told me. I bought and religiously drink all the medicines she prescribed me and ordered me to go back after two weeks. By the time I went back, I saw my original doctor already. After telling her what the reliever doctor told me and prescribed, she seemed puzzled and seemed like questioning the reliever doctor's prescribed medicines as well as the laboratory test schedules she gave me. Anyway, in the end, she prescribed me a different set of medicines and rescheduled my lab tests.

Oh well...

waiting

I hate waiting in hospitals. I feel I get sicker just waiting for my turn to go on consultation with the doctor. Sitting with the other patients, I can't help but wonder what their conditions are and hoping that it's nothing contagious.

It's just irritating the last time I went to the doctor.I waited for almost 2 hours for a doctor who wouldn't be coming after all. Grrrr... I had the option to see another doctor instead, but I would really prefer seeing just one and sticking to her since she would know my history already, instead of switching doctors (whoever is available).

vacation

It has been quite awhile since we had a family vacation. I think the last one was last 2006 when the whole family went to Hong Kong. It was really fun but I wished that we stayed longer. I hope we have another vacation like that. I hope this time it’s by the beach. I know that there are so many options where to go to. There are a lot of resorts and hotels to choose from. The destination options are endless. Just looking at the karisma hotels and beach resorts in mexico makes me not think about swine flu anymore! I hope that epidemic gets contained so it wouldn’t be so risky to travel anymore.

degree programs

What degree program did you choose? There really are a lot of degree programs to choose from. I think one must think about which one to take thoroughly. Ask yourself what you really want to do with your life. I know some are stuck with the degrees that they took and are leading a career that they are not happy with. Well, it’s not yet too late. You can enroll in those online universities to pursue the careers that you really want. Check out capella.edu to know more about your options. You do not have to resign from your work to get another degree! Grab this opportunity to really go after your dream career.

sick of it

I’m getting saturated hearing all those stories about the Hayden Kho scandal. I think we should be devoting more time to more important issues like the Con Ass. I know that some politicians are riding the band wagon and taking advantage of this Hayden Kho scandal just so that they would be able to establish their own “good image”.

gondolas

The kind of display racks or gondolas really play a big part in designing the selling area where a store showcases the products that they are selling. There are a lot of options to choose from ranging from glass showcases, Gondola 2 sided units, Gondola end cap, Gondola wall type unit and a whole lot more. Retailers must optimize the use of these different display tools which should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The type of display tool used would dictate how your product is to be displayed. It affects the total display look. It can also aid in ensuring an orderly display.

There are a lot of companies distributing these display tools that retailers can choose from. One must first determine which type their store needs. Measurements are essential so make sure to take note of the length, height, and width specifications in order to make sure that everything would fit. Anyway, some companies can give an online quote for your display tools needs.

I somehow miss my previous company especially when I had a baby project of increasing the sales of the smallest branch using the retailer initiative’s principles. It was quite a challenge since the store had only limited amount of space, thus it can only hold limited amount of products. Evaluating how many and what types of gondolas and coolers are to be placed in which area was necessary.

The layout of each store is carefully planned out in order to optimize the selling area. Sometimes there would be some small racks by the cashier to feature some products that the cashier would usually plus sell. Lately I’ve been seeing some fresh bananas or those chocolate bon bons. Case studies were made in order to optimize the placement of which product relative to one another. There really is a lot of ways to display the products that a store is selling. Most would make use of a mixture of Gondola wall units, Gondola 2 sided units as well as Gondola end cap units. But since that branch was so small, it mostly used up gondola wall units.

catching up

It was really nice being able to see my grade school friends through facebook. It's been such a long time since I've had any communication with them. It's a bit sad that so much have happened and we barely kept in touch. There's so much to catch up on. It's a bit melancholic remembering our grade school days and how much we've had so much fun, but now we barely know each other. Oh well. I wish we kept in touch more...

fenphedra

What is Fenphedra? It is one of those diet pills that you can opt to take in order to lose weight. If you want to know more about it, you can read reviews at dietpill.net. Just make sure that before you decide in taking any of these diet pills, consult with your doctor and get clearance that it is safe for you to take. I’m starting to get desperate when it comes to losing weight but I’m still holding off taking these diet pills and still battling it out the natural way.

twisted ankle

I just got home from doing the grocery and was on my way to the kitchen to put away the stuff I bought into their proper places. As I passed near the refrigerator, I didn't notice that there was a pool of water which leaked out from it. It was just a split second when I just felt my left foot slipped and felt my ankle hit the floor, twisting my foot inwards. While holding the grocery bags in both hands, I was fortunately able to regain my balance by leaning on a stool. I couldn't move for a few seconds since I could immediately feel the pain on my left foot. It hurts badly stepping using my left foot. Anyway, I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that I have twisted my ankle so I'm more or less used to how to treat it. It just sucks not being to move around as much as I want to. I hope the pain would go away pretty soon.

rare coins

Do you have some rare coins out there? Are you one of those coin collectors? You’ll be surprised how much those rare coins cost already. You may have hit a gold mine! Collecting these rare coins can actually be a form of investment. So in case you have any of these, just hang on to them. In the years we don’t know how much more they would be worth. Some really take the pains of hunting for some rare coins and buying them out, with the hope that their worth would appreciate so much more in the years to come. Well, they actually usually do!

Crazy over Restaurant City

My Pet Society days are over. Now, my new addiction is Restaurant City. I guess it somehow virtually fulfills my dream of owning my own restaurant. I enjoy decorating and rearranging my restaurant. I hope I get to the top level soon so I would have bigger space. I hope they add more features to the application before I get to my saturation point.

Here's how my restaurant evolved as I leveled up...

new bed

My bed and cushion is over 20 years old already. Maybe it’s about time to replace them already. Or probably I can just look for a new cushion. The cushion is not as fluffy anymore. There’s also a certain part of the bed where I lost a needle and ended up being embedded in the cushion. I couldn’t get it out anymore so now I would often try sleeping and avoiding that part of the bed or end up getting pricked by the needle. Anyway, it’s fun looking at some sleep number bed models. I hope I have the budget to make another bedroom renovation.

insurance

How’s the insurance industry nowadays? I wonder if it’s easier or harder to get an insurance lead now that there’s a recession and the financial crisis is felt worldwide. Well, despite this I think having insurance is essential. It may be a bit hard maintaining regular payment for it, but if you can try to squeeze it in your budget, it is advised that you grab the opportunity to get an insurance policy.

insurance

Life is fleeting. We don’t know when it’s going to be our time. It’s not that I am being morbid, I’m just being realistic. It’s very unfortunate when a bread winner of a family dies and leaves his wife and kids with nothing. Besides the tragedy of a lost loved one, the reality of how they will be living their lives without their soul bread winner. Anyway, maybe it’s time for you to think about getting a life insurance. In order to compare life insurance rates go here: wholesaleinsurance.net. It can be a great starting ground if you want to get yourself a life insurance

finding a home

My sweetie and I still haven’t decided where to stay after getting married. We’re still assessing our options. Of course main consideration would be the budget. Renting an apartment is the most plausible option for the mean time but loaning to buy a real house would be more cost efficient in the long run. It would be nice if we could get option advices from a Real Property Management service provider. It’s really hard when you have limited budget. Oh well. I hope we get to find a decent place to live in. I’m excited to furnish and decorate it already.

crazy over grey's

OMG! The season finale of grey's anatomy is the bomb! I had low EQ and googled the summary but still didn't shield me from crying over certain scenes. The twists and turns were definitely unexpected. I just really hope that all of the main characters would still be there for the next season. It's such an agonizing wait for what would happen next. It wouldn't be the same if Izzie and George would get axed.

things to do

I still have to prepare for my next training sessions. I’m hoping that the other pending training session schedules get finalized so I can organize my schedule accordingly. It’s been awhile since I’ve been this busy. I have lots of pending articles to write as well. I hope I finish them before deadline hits. I still have to research about mesothelioma. Well, it looks like my list of things to do is piling up.

Sunday, May 10, 2009

busy as a bee

I’ve been so busy lately dealing with my trainings. I’ve been fixing my materials since it’s a new program that I’m teaching although it’s very much similar from the previous ones. But since it’s new, I don’t find the presentation materials sufficient and had to overhaul it and put more contents. It’s practically taking so much of my time. I just finished some training in Batangas, and I have a couple more trainings lined up for these next two weeks. Right now, I can only dream of Vegas vacations. I hope after this I would be able to take a nice vacation.

personalized gifts

Do you usually have a hard time finding a nice gift to somebody on their birthday or probably during Christmas season? Well, sometimes it is inevitable to run out of ideas but I think you can never go wrong with personalized items. Just make sure they are usable and not just something that you display since those would likely just end up accumulating dust. Anyway, posylane.com is a good start where you can find personalized stuff like personalized key fob, mom agenda planner, and monogrammed koozies. They really have a lot of options in their site which you can choose from. I’m sure you’ll find a great idea of what gift to give to your friends and relatives. I would personally appreciate getting personalized gifts since I know that the gift giver put more thought in the choosing the gift. Anyway, check out the site. I know they are offering big discounts lately.

playing poker

Do youlike playing poker? I do! I’ve been missing it actually. I can’t even remember the last time I played poker for real. I’ve been playing instead at facebook but the feeling it’s not even close to playing for real. Anyway, one item in my things to do list is to join a Poker Tournament, I don’t really care much if I win or not, but of course it would be nice if I do. Anyway, I used to play online poker at one of those Top Online Casinos just for the sake of trying it out. I did win some, but the net was still a loss (which is still my boundaries of amount of money lost). Anyway, in case you are interested in playing online poker for real money, it is advisable to read those online Casino Reviews as well. Try playing for fun first before dipping your toes to playing for real money. Play only the amount that you are willing to lose.

read reviews first

Aren’t you amazed with all the diet pills that are being manufactured these days? I wonder how many are really as effective as they claim to be. I wonder which one really has no bad side effect. It’s so tempting to just believe in them and just rely on these pills and never go on a diet ever again. But there are a lot of risks that we should all be aware of before taking any of them. Always consult your doctor and read online reviews. You can easily read about diet pills reviews for atro phex and other diet pills out there.

allegro

Bathroom assists, diabetes supplies, dietary supplements, orthopedics supplies, swine flu prevention supplies, wheel chairs, wound care supplies, and a whole lot more! It’s such a haven for all these materials like these. You’d certainly find what you’re looking for at allegro medical. So in case that you are looking for some weight vests or something to protect yourself from swine flu, you know which site to go to! It’s really great that we can all find these supplies online at allegro medical. You should probably bookmark the site since you don’t know when you’re going to need any of these materials. Knowing that you have this site online is really convenient. You can easily shop by brand or shop by category or shop by condition.

tools

Since my dad has already retired from his work and has already come home from UAE, he’s trying to find things to do. He is planning to finally make use of our vacant lot in Batangas and build a rest house there so that we would have somewhere to stay at whenever we visit our province. I think he’s also planning to do some renovations in our own house as well. I think he planned this even before he left UAE since he even bought a lot of tools that would aid him in these “projects”. It was kind of overwhelming how much stuff he has. I don’t even know the names of those tools but they pretty much look heavy duty. I think he still plans to buy a couple more just like Masonry saw diamond blades. He’s even planning to make a movable work table which has drawers underneath to hold his tools and other paraphernalia. Well, it looks like he would have busy days ahead. I just hope he doesn’t overwork himself.

wedding favors

I’m holding off accepting wedding coordination (not yet sure if this is a permanent thing), but I’m still open to giving wedding planning advices to friends who are getting married soon. I love talking about weddings and planning for it. I really enjoy it even if it means thinking about hundreds of tasks to do just to ensure that your wedding would go smoothly and surely be a memorable one too. Deciding on suppliers are really crucial decisions since their quality of services would definitely have a significant impact on your wedding. And then of course there are the little details that you can probably D-I-Y in order to save money. Sometimes it’s in the small details which make a wedding truly unique and memorable. Anyways, right now I’m helping a friend decide what her wedding favors would be. I think she is keen on deciding to get an edible wedding favor as oppose to getting something that you just display on cabinets and accumulate dust. She’s thinking of either getting cookie wedding favors or wedding candy favor just like those cute colorful jelly beans.

cross dressing

What can you say about people who are into cross dressing? I guess it’s more obvious when guys wear female clothes as oppose to female wearing men’s clothes. Sometimes those who are crossdressing really do look like real women and even look really sophisticated. Sometimes I can’t even pin point outright whether they’re a woman or just cross dressing. But honestly, there are times when I see gays who cross dress who like really horrible. It’s really done in bad taste. It’s like an eye sore. Sometimes you see them walk in groups who are probably into crossdresing dating. Oh well. Some really need to reconsider their sense of fashion.

garage sale idea

My dad's coming home! He said he has like around 4 big balikbayan boxes that he is sending home. He already packed all his stuff since he's coming home for good. I wonder where we're going to put all his things. Their bedroom is so stuffed already. I was actually suggesting that we have a garage sale since I know we have too much stuff that we don't either use anymore or totally don't need. Having a garage sale would definitely help clear up some space.

too much carbs

I know that one of the major culprits why I just can’t take off these unwanted pounds is because of too much carbs. I just love eating rice with ulam. I tried decreasing and sometimes eliminating rice, but it’s just not sustainable for me. Especially when I’m eating with my sweetie, who’s big on rice as well, I just sometimes get carried away and take in more rice than I should. Sometimes I’m just really tempted to take those appetite suppresants. Oh well. I just hope I get to learn to apply portion control.

computer fixed

I recently had a problem with my computer. It just decided to not properly work as it was intended to work. Unfortunately, I’m not really good at technicalities when it comes to fixing it when something goes wrong. It’s really a good thing that my brother knows a lot about computers. My laptop’s hard drive had some problems. He made some diagnostics and then concluded that the hard disk should be replaced already. He just bought a new one and installed it himself. So now, my computer is running again, thanks to my brother!

Friday, April 10, 2009

clean air

I easily get irritated with the smell of smoke! I really hate second hand smoking. Well, probably because I have symptoms of having asthma already. My brother and mom have asthma. We probably should get air cleaners to use at home. That would really help a lot to avoid getting asthma attacks. It would be so much nicer to breathe clean air all the time.

summer pampering

I’m glad we have a membership card at Astoria which enables us to have a weeklong free vacation at their hotel every year. We can also use it at other affiliated hotels all over the world. It’s fun having this privilege since it’s so relaxing staying at nice hotels every now and then. We all deserve a treat once in awhile. Times like these when it’s super hot, it’s nice staying at an air conditioned hotel room and take a dip at the hotel’s indoor pool!

more reliable

It’s great that we don’t get to experience so much loss of cell signal anymore as much as before. It’s probably because there’s a cell tower almost always near you. Companies have invested in these in order to provide better service. This is one of the great outcomes of the stiff competition between these service providers. It used to be so irritating getting inefficient and unreliable service from these companies.

planning to abstain

I've got so much listed in my things to do. I've barely ticked some off. Well, the major culprit for my lack of productivity is: FACEBOOK! Geeez...I didn't know it was going to be this addicting. Lately, I've been recklessly spending my time with some of it's applications namely Mafia Wars (level 119) and Pet Society (Level 25). Oh well. I've been planning to abstain for a couple of days but I still haven't gotten around to doing the sacrifice. Well, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it would be a much more productive one.

paintball

I enjoy watching people play paintball and have always wanted to try it out as well. It looks so much fun and gives you that adrenaline rush! I wonder how much it hurts when you get hit? Good thing there are available paintball gears and paintball masks to protect yourself. I have yet to really try paintball... another one added to my to-do list for the year!

new addiction

One of my best friend's introduced me to facebook. Now I'm super hooked!!! I love the applications. You can do more with it than with friendster. Anyway, one of my favorite applications is pet society! It's really fun designing my own house. It takes a bit of time to earn money, but there are some ways to work around that... hehe! I already have a living room, kitchen/dining room, bedroom, and bathroom. I hope I can have another room pretty soon. Maybe I will make a garden or probably a play room.

too sunny

Don’t you just hate the scorching heat? It’s definitely summer time. It would be a nice time to go to the beach but I just hope it won’t be too sunny. Well, what’s a bit irritating is that sometimes it’s too hot then it would suddenly rain for like around 15 minutes and then it would be super hot again. I don’t know if the changing weather has any effect on acne outbreaks, but it looks like I would need to get some treatment for acne before it gets worse. Oh well. I hope the succeeding days won’t be as hot as the previous ones.

summer swimming

My sweetie and I went swimming last monday with his little sisters and cousins. I recently discovered that our club house has been renovated and open to the public. I remember the pool there used to be dirty and the place was not properly maintained. It's a good thing it's under new management and the place looks nice and clean again.

birthday party

I’m already excited to attend one of my good friend’s son’s 1st birthday party! I’m actually making his souvenirs for the party. I’m making goodie bags with cookies and chocolates. I’ve got new chocolate molds and cookie cutters that are appropriate for any boy-themed party. Of course I have girl-themed molds and cutters as well (in case any of you are interested for your daughters’ parties). I hope everybody would love the souvenirs I’m making.

coping with the crisis

Is the recession affecting your company? It's saddening to hear about lay offs being made around the world. I even hear friends who have jobs in IT that their company is implementing pay cuts. Oh well. Different companies are coping up with the financial crisis in different ways. A lot are really disappointed but have no choice but to sacrifice. They're glad they still have their jobs. It would be so much disastrous to lose one right now especially if you have your own family to support.

Trying out rings

One of the things that I enjoyed doing at the wedding expo is trying out wedding rings. Honestly, me and my sweetie were pretty much clueless about rings. We haven’t done any research about it so we didn’t know where to start. It’s great that the sales lady from Goldenhills was very patient enough to assist us. It was fun trying out which ring design would look nice on our fingers. My sweetie was pretty much overwhelmed by a lot of factors to consider when picking a ring – white gold or yellow gold or some other material? Matte or shiny? With diamond/s? (duh?) What cut? Well, I guess our decision would be dictated by how much budget we have. Well, we did arrive to some favorites, but of course we haven’t finalized anything yet. I’m still (patiently) waiting for the formal proposal! Hehehe!

investing

I used to look at mutual funds investments. I haven’t entirely dipped my hands into actually investing on them. I have also tried to learn about investing in the stock market and there’s so much to learn about it and I haven’t entirely dipped my fingers into actually investing on them as well. I don’t know if it’s a good move to put my money on these kinds of investments, especially after learning from a couple of friends how much they lost already, considering the world wide financial crisis going on. Well, maybe long term wise, I can still earn from these, but there are still some other options that I’m still looking at, just like investing in gold and silver through Monex. Considering the supply and demand, their worth is most likely to go up, but this can be a long term investment as well and not an instant get rich scheme.

Chow chow

I just love this super cute dog we saw at BHS. Her name is ginger! Her owner was kind enough to let me take a picture of her dog. It looks like ginger is posing for the camera here. Notice her bluish tongue? It's usually one of the distinct characteristics of Chow chows, aside from their bushy fur. I hope someday I'll have a full bred chow chow. Our dog, sammie is just half chow, half japanese spitz. (Unfortunately) she has more characteristics of a japanese spitz.

Italianni's

Thanks to Magic 89.9, my sweetie and I had a free dinner at Italianni's at Bonifacio High Street last Valentine's day.

The boys (from Boys Night Out) were very generous to give me and my bestfriend (Puj) each a free dinner for two when we visited the station a few days before hearts day.

Going to BHS on Valentine's was a bit hellish because of the anticipated traffic. Almost all restaurants were full. Even Italianni's had a long waiting line, considering that they already put out additional tables in front of the restaurant! Well, the long wait was well worth it! Here's what we ate:

Everything was free except the pizza which my sweetie ordered. He just have to order pizza! He's just a pizzaholic!

ring anticipation

My sweetie and I have talked about getting married a lot of times already, although I admit of getting a bit impatient when my sweetie would propose to me. I guess I’m just really getting excited with the thought of finally marrying the love of my life. We both know we’re going to end up together and it’s just a matter of time. Well, I already made sure he knows my ring size! Hahaha! I might actually give him some information regarding some jewelers to aid him when finding the perfect ring. Well, I’m not really particular about the ring but of course it would be such a great bonus to get a pretty nice ring, right? Anyway, I’m trying to take my mind off these things and just let him be. I know when the right time comes he’ll finally pop the question.

wedding stuff

Planning for a wedding can really be so tedious. There are so many details that you have to think about, ranging from major stuff like the venue of your church and reception and who your caterer would be to the stuff like what unity candle to buy or what bridesmaid gifts to get. It’s just great that there are a lot of sites out there to guide every bride in planning. Knowing that you have these sites somehow gives a comforting feeling to a bride. Planning for the great big day may be hard but every bride should enjoy the journey! I can’t wait when it’s going to be my turn!

Monday, March 2, 2009

Ensure

There are a lot of nutritional drinks out there. What do you drink? Have you tried out ensure? They claim that it is a good source for omega 3 and a lot of vitamins and minerals that our body essentially needs. It’s lactose and gluten free as well. This drink can really be a great diet supplement. I know my sweetie’s grandmother drinks this regularly. Despite her old age, she’s still very healthy. Maybe you can check out allegromedical.com if you are interested to get your supply of Ensure. They offer a lot of nutritional dietary supplements among others. Check out their site!

crisis

I think every household can feel the worldwide crisis happening. It’s extra tough these days when almost everything is expensive and you got to be extra smart on your spending or else you’ll have a hard time stretching your budget and just might end up in debt. These days, we aim only to spend on the necessities and hold off on indulging on luxuries. Sometimes there are things that arise and you are forced to shell out extra money.

updates

I've been so lazy lately when it comes to blogging. I've actually got a lot of stuff to blog about...just like getting a free dinner at Italliani's last Valentine's day c/o Magic 89.9...

I've recently signed in to Facebook lately and I've gotten so addicted to it already! I usually play Mafia Wars and poker.

Lately, my insomniac mode is back! I used to sleep around 2 am...then it become 4am...and today, i slept around 6 am and woke up around 11am. It's really terrible!

I'm contemplating of accepting a new project... gotta earn more money if I want to get married already!

wood flooring

I am drawn to having wood flooring. It gives a different feel of the house. It somehow makes it a bit homier. But I guess it’s harder to maintain wood flooring. I have been to homes with wood flooring which don’t allow guests to wear shoes while inside the house. They would even have shoe racks by the door so people would leave their shoes before entering the house.

dvd marathon

I have a couple of new DVDs that I recently bought at Quiapo. It’s so much cheaper than watching them at movie theaters. Well, It’s good enough for me to watch on an HDTV. We still have a couple of popcorns that I can pop in the microwave to get more of a movie theater experience. Maybe I can do a DVD marathon this weekend with my sweetie. I wonder which one we’ll watch first.

argentina

Last night’s Pinoy Fear Factor just revealed who the ultimate winner is. My parents usually make it a point to watch every episode. The Pinoy Fear Factor was done at Argentina. The show showed certain places in Argentina and made me curious more about the place. Maybe it would be fun to make an Argentina travel plan to check out the place personally. Well, I just hope I win the lottery soon so I can visit any place I want to.

experimenting

My sweetie and I are trying to be more experimental when it comes to eating out. We want to check out places where we won’t normally eat. It can really be exciting when one goes out of his comfort zone. But of course we try to research first about the place so that we’ll know what to expect. We try to research what food would be best ordered at that particular restaurant so that we can optimize the experience. It’s just great that there are sites out there which show reviews of restaurants. It really benefits the consumers. Anyway, in case you are looking for some Denver Restaurants, you might want to read reviews at westword.com.

online colleges

Are you happy with the course that you took in college? Was there a point in your life that you wished you were taking another one? What hindered you from taking the course that you really want? Well, maybe it’s about time that you pursue your real passion. Maybe you can go back to school again. There are online colleges that you can enroll at to take up the real course that you want. You owe it to yourself to pursue your real passion. You can even take masters or PhD! It’s easier to pursue master’s and doctoral degree having these online colleges around. UP Fair

Do you plan to go to the UP Fair? When do you plan to go? I haven't seen the list of bands yet, but it's usually fun going on a friday. I bet it would be extra special since it's friday the 13th and it's valentines the next day. I heard there will be a valentines countdown as well as some fireworks. I'm not yet sure if I'll be going since I don't know yet who to go with. Let's see...

no mojo

I’ve got so much to blog about! Unfortunately, it seems that I’ve lost my blogging mojo lately. I just don’t feel like blogging lately even if I’ve got tons of topics to blog about. I even have lots of pictures that I can post. I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately. I hope this is just temporary or else I might end up shutting down my blog.

natural way

Our biggest loser challenge weigh in is fast approaching. Unfortunately, I’m not happy with my weight loss (or lack of it). I know it’s tempting to take some weight loss pills, but I’m still sticking to my original plan which is to do things naturally. It’s just a matter of exercising regularly and eating in moderation. Well, it’s easier said than done. I’m not quitting! Hopefully in time I’ll have the discipline needed to have a significant weight loss.

decorating tips

I visited a friend’s condo unit a few days ago. I just love her place! It was nicely designed. She surely was able to optimize her space. The interior decoration was superb. She didn’t even have to hire an interior decorator. The moment I stepped in, I immediately got a homey feel of the place. I extra love her bathroom. The design was well thought of. Even her bathroom lighting go with the theme of the room. Hopefully, I’ll get the opportunity soon to design my own place! I’d surely get tips from her!

hotels

It’s fun pampering yourself by staying at a hotel. It’s so relaxing sleeping on a nice bed with fluffy pillows and soaking yourself on a tub. We recently had a weekend getaway and stayed at Astoria for 3 days and 2 nights. It was really fun bonding with my family and my sweetie. I hope we can have more moments like those. I wonder which hotel we can visit soon. There are a lot of nice hotels around the city that we can probably try out as well. What hotels have you tried out in and out of the country? I was browsing through the internet some hotel sites and I encountered Karisma Hotels in Mexico which seemed really nice. Their Adults Only All Inclusive Hotels seem like a great place to stay when you visit Mexico. Maybe you can try it out just in case you find yourself in Mexico.

Ark Avilon Zoo

I woke up monday morning feeling the need to do something different or just go someplace I haven't been to and probably do some photography stuff. Well, I ended up going to Ark Avilon Zoo near Tiendesitas.

It was a good thing that there weren't any scheduled field trips for the day or else the place would be packed. It's just a fairly small zoo.

I paid the entrance fee of Php200 and then I was on my way to exploring what this zoo has to offer. Well, one of the distinct feature of this zoo is that you can interact with some of the animals. Some animals are just free to roam around, some are handled by their staff and you are assisted to interact with them. What I love most is that you can feed some of the animals yourself. I had fun feeding carrots to the bunnies and guinea pigs as well as feeding okra to the tortoise.

I had fun that day. It was fun taking pictures again. It was quite a challenge photographing animals since you can't really make them stop to pose so you really have to capture them in perfect timing.

Anyway, here are some of the photos I took...

new project

I might be joining another project by UPERDFI (UP Engineering Research and Development Foundation Inc.). I’m still waiting for the details though. It’s just a 6-month project (I hope it doesn’t get extended since I really don’t like getting tied to a job). I’m sure it would be a bit weird for me going to work 5 days a week again. My peer was even joking that she’ll make sure that the office would be nice enough for me. Well, it does help having nice office furniture around, but in the end, what matters is the people I work with. I hope we all get to enjoy this new project.

smart shopper

With the recession going on, it’s essential to become a smart shopper. One has to make sure each purchase is necessary and that you’re getting each item at a very reasonable price. It’s hard to splurge on shopping these days. Sometimes it’s better shopping at surplus shops nowadays. But of course, you must never sacrifice quality just because it is cheaply priced. It can really be a challenge striking a balance!

rest house

I went with my friend to visit her aunt’s rest house. I loved her place! She had a spacious lot with lots of different trees around. It was such a relaxing place! She even has this covered place outside her house where you can just lounge around while savoring the fresh air. Maybe it would be even more fun to have a small Jacuzzi tub outside or probably have more fruit bearing trees or some Dwarf Little Gem Magnolia trees. But anyways, as it is, it’s already awesome!

health is wealth

I’m trying to design an exercise plan as well as a food plan in order to win the biggest loser challenge me and my poker friends have. It’s tempting to just buy one of those best diet pills but I want to work hard on this. It’s much sweeter winning without cheating. I have often gotten whatever I set my heart on. It’s about time I really pursue getting healthier. I’m not getting any younger. I really need to prioritize my health. It’s about time I really focus on it.

antipolo tradition

Every 30th of December the whole family from my father’s side goes to Antipolo to hear mass, have lunch at Hinulugang Taktak, go to megamall, then go to star city (or MOA). I think we’ve been doing this for over 10 years already. It’s a pretty nice tradition to keep since it’s always nice when the whole family gets together. Even if it’s a bit hard since most of them comes from Batangas but we manage to observe the tradition.

antipolo tradition (2)

Our antipolo tradition would start of by hearing mass, then lighting some candles and praying our petitions, then going up to touch the dress of the statue. Sometimes we would buy some rosaries, novenas, crucifix, or statues then have them blessed.
By the time we reach the exit of the church’s gate, we are already swamped with sellers of suman and cashew nuts! Each seller usually offer free taste and vouch that theirs taste the best. I love cashew nuts! Their suman also tastes good. You can really taste that they’re freshly made and not already stored for a long time already.

antipolo tradition (3)

Then we would go to Hinulugang Taktak, riding the rented big jeepney that they got (so that everybody would fit in). Well, nowadays some would bring an extra car since some have babies and little kids in tow already. It’s just funny that no matter how many times we’ve been to Hinulugang Taktak, we still manage to get lost every year!

antipolo tradition (4)

Unfortunately, Hinulugang Taktak is not that clean anymore. You can see trash all over. For the last few years, we don’t go down anymore near the falls, but just rent out tables outside. It’s usually just a simple feast of adobo, itlog na maalat with kamatis, fried chicken, pinakbet, and inihaw na bangus. For some reason that’s what we usually eat there almost every year!
