American Standard Jazz Bass Fretless

Have you tried playing the classic fender american standard jazz bass fretless? My friend loves it so much. He loves the design and playability of it as compared to the other brands that he has tried out. I think he's saving up for one already. He's hoping he could buy one as a birthday gift to himself. He feels it's value for money and doesn't mind investing on it.
