a little catching up

It's so friggin' hot lately!

I decided to get outta the house and visit some old friends and go to ABS-CBN. I admit feeling a bit nostalgic walking again on those grounds. I did have a lot of good memories from my previous company. It was having to work in a company full of college friends.

It was nice doing a little catching up, but I'm sure I'll be back soon for a longer one.

Oh by the way, it was an additional bonus that I was able to see Lucky! Hahaha!

treatment needed

I pity my cousin for having a bad case of acne on his back. It really doesn’t look too good when you look at it. He has tried a lot of acne treatment already but would usually end up aggravating the acne more or getting rashes since he is also allergic to some reactive agents of those anti-acne soaps/ ointments. Do you have any suggestions how to treat acne? You might have encountered an effective product that you can recommend to my cousin.

gold

Last week, I almost thought I lost my gold necklace. I really couldn’t remember if I wore it going to the province or if I just left it at home. It was good to know that it was the latter. But I really got so worried thinking that I lost it since that necklace is so important to me. It’s was bought more than 20 years ago. Besides the sentimental value, I know how much gold has become so expensive already. My parents really invest in gold as pieces of jewelry. Well, maybe my dad can look into buying a gold bullion with the retirement pay that he will soon be getting.

going camping

I would love to go to Anawangin. I have been researching a lot about the place and it really looks so interesting to go to. It’s definitely worth checking out. This place would really bring you back to the basics. Don’t expect any hotel here since the only place you’re going to sleep at is inside a tent. Which reminds me to look for some camping gear in case we do get to go to Anawangin.

walking sammie

My mom has started a new regimen: walking early in the morning. I should really be joining her but I can’t seem to wake up that early anymore since I have been sleeping so late (average is probably 2 am). I suggested she brings our dog when she walks around the village so the dog gets to exercise as well.

It turns out that our lazy dog couldn’t keep up with mom that at some point she had to carry her for some time since she didn’t want to walk anymore. She was panting so hard when they got home. The dog was so tired that for the whole day she just lazily slept and didn’t walk around much.

Get together

We recently went to Batangas for a family get together. It’s actually a celebration since my cousin just passed the board exam for physicians. She’s now officially a doctor. We’re all proud of her!

It was nice seeing my relatives in the province. I rarely get to see them. It’s just amazing that a lot have kids already. Of course, it was inevitable to be asked when my turn would be. It actually felt a lot of pressure. Well, it didn’t help that my sweetie didn’t go with us since he already had plans with his officemates that they would watch Pacquiao’s fight together.

Oh well. It was really nice seeing my cousins and their little kids. They’re all so cute! I want my own already! *sigh*

door problem

Our dog has been so crazy again lately. She just loves sleeping at my parents’ room. But because my mom is a bit asthmatic, and the dog is so furry, we don’t normally allow her to go in the room. Entertainingly, the dog is just to persistent that she would scratch and bang the door to my parents’ room so that she would be let in. It’s a bit irritating especially when she does it at the middle of the night when you have finally found your sleep. Unfortunately, their door now has a lot of scratch marks already that we might need to go to a door hardware to either look for something to protect the door or ultimately replace it.

radiator

It’s summer time again and it really is super hot already. Make sure to always check your car daily so you would avoid overheating on the road. It can really be quite a hassle when that happens, and it may also possible damage your Ford Radiator. Make sure your Ford radiator is always clean. You can have it undergo rodding to clean it out. Don’t wait until it’s too far gone and clogged with rust and scale over time or else you just might need to replace it altogether. That would be much expensive and I’m sure you don’t want that. Anyway, it’s just really a matter of checking it and cleaning it regularly.

soaking in a tub

Summer is definitely here! It has been so freaking hot lately! It’s excruciating staying in a non aircon place. Oh if only I can go swimming everyday to cool myself. Having our place airconditioned would probably send our electricity bill soaring high. Well, looks like I would be taking a shower more than twice a day this season. Oh if only we have those walk in tubs, it would be much nicer to soak and just lounge around.

No traffic

It's definitely a rare opportunity that you see EDSA traffic free. We easily made our way home through EDSA without encountering your usual EDSA traffic. Looks like a lot of people are in the provinces already for the extended weekend due to the Holy Week. I bet the traffic would be so horrible during the weekend when they all start going back already.

implants

Almost all women are conscious of their figures. I guess it’s all because of pressure to conform with how guys are attracted to women. Truth is, the sexier you are, the more men you get to attract. I guess that’s why there are a lot of establishments set up to perform medical procedures to improve one’s body proportion. A flat chested woman may opt to have saline breast implants in order to have a bigger breast cup. For sure a bigger one would elicit more attention from men. No wonder there’s a lot of money in this kind of industry. Well, it does make some people’s lives better.

getting my groove back

It really is quite a challenge to lose weight. I have been in constant battle with mine. Although, ironically, I have been very thin when I was still a kid and barely eats. I don’t know what has happened to me since that has now become a rare case for me. Anyway, more than losing weight, it’s the healthiness factor that makes me want to use that exercise equipment that’s already accumulating dust. We actually have a stationary bike and even an exercise ball. I just hope that on days I don’t get to go to the gym, I would atleast be able to use them.

apply online

Looks like you can find just about anything through the internet. There are now a lot of online shops which practically sell almost everything already and deliver right at your doorstep. A lot of services, you can apply online already. You can apply for a credit card of a loan easily online. You can also get an online car insurance. It’s so hassle-free! You can read a lot about reviews first online before you actually decide on what to get.

early wedding planning

It was fun going to the wedding expo last saturday! Even if we don't have a final wedding date yet (probably late 2009 or early 2010) and there's no formal proposal yet, we have somehow started imagining and planning how our wedding would be. Being a wedding coordinator, makes me more aware of suppliers' prices which really somehow makes me worried if we can actually be able to save up for our dream wedding. Somehow thinking about how it can possibly cost makes me feel a bit guilty spending so much for just one day. Oh well. I hope we get to pull it off.

Janina San Miguel - is she worthy to win?

OMG!!! I can't believe Janina San Miguel won Bb. Pilipinas World! How can they let this woman represent our country when she can't even answer properly during the question and answer portion? I swear, watching it really made me cringe!!! She may have won Best in Swimsuit and Best in Long Gown, but I think winning a title is not just about looking good in what you wear. I feel that the person's intelligence and ability to communicate herself well should also be given a premium.

Here’s a transcript of her Q&A portion. Read it and judge for yourself. Better yet, watch it in YouTube and let's see if you can even stomach finishing her answer the judge's question.

Paolo Bediones: Janina, how are you?
Janina San Miguel: Fine.

Paolo Bediones: Alright, so you won two of the major awards - Best in Long Gown, Best in Swimsuit, do you feel any pressure right now?
Janina San Miguel: No, I don’t feel any pressure right now.

Paolo Bediones: Confident! Alright! Please choose a name of the judge.
Paolo Bediones: We have Miss Vivian Tan.

Vivian Tan: Good Evening.
Janina San Miguel: Good Evening.

Vivian Tan: The question is, what role did your family play to you as candidate to Binibining Pilipinas?
Janina San Miguel: Well, my family’s role for me is so important becoz there was the wa- they’re, they was the one who’s …. very… Haha .… Oh I’m so sorry, uhmm …. My pamily .… My pamily .… Oh my god …. Ok, I’m so sorry .… I .… I told you that I’m so confident .… Eto, uhhmm, Wait .… Hahahahaha, uhmmm, Sorry guys becoz this was really my first pageant ever becoz I’m only 17 years old and ahahaha I, I did not expect that I came from, I came from one of the tough 10. Hmmm, so .… but I said that my family es the most important persons in my life. Thank you.

insurance quotes

I was looking at some life insurance quotes. I was tinkering with some life insurance calculator. Anyway, I still need to learn more about the specifics , computations and other benefits that I can get. Since I would be investing in money, I would want to get the best deal so I can get my money’s worth, right? If you know of an agent who can help me out or have some tips in mind regarding insurances, just leave a message.

travel bag

Along with wanting to travel more is wanting to be able to buy a nice travel bag. I want it a little stylish, but ergonomically done so that it does its purpose pretty well. I was recently looking at some options in the internet and saw some Zero Halliburton which looked really nice. Anyway, I hope I can find something that would fit the budget as well. Any suggestions?

would you?

What do you do when your boyfriend asks you permission if he can go out with his college friends? I guess that’s ok right? I wouldn’t want to be a kill joy and he’s entitled to have fun without me. And besides, it’s very rare that they get together. But what if he says that they are planning to go to that kind of place where there are naked women dancing? Would you still allow him?

allegro medical

Wow, I can’t imagine how big allegromedical.com has grown already since it was first established in 1996. Statistics shows that it has already served over a million customers already and that it is already one of the largest online retailers of medical equipments. It has also been developed to be as technologically advanced as possible in order to keep up with the needs of the customers. So in case you are in need for some Daily Living Aids, you know where to source it out already. Allegromedical.com is very much reliable and you are sure to get quality medical supplies at a great deal.

what i miss

I miss baking and cooking. Well, it’s hard when you’re just 3 in the house since you end up eating all that you’ve cooked/baked, thus ending up with a few extra pounds. I hope we’ll have a scheduled get together so I can cook/bake and bring my goodies and share it with them so I don’t end up eating all of them.

more koreans

Have you noticed how much Koreans are in our country? Statistics show that they are the majority who goes to our country. I wonder what makes them go to our country and study here instead. Is it because it’s cheaper to study here? I wonder why they go out of their way to go here and learn the English (and Filipino) language just so they can study here. I’m sure Korean-English tutorial centers are making so much money out of this great opportunity.

entheogen

Do you know what the word “entheogen” mean? Well, it’s literal meaning is becoming divine within. They say that it is somehow associated with the word ethnobotanical but that is a more general term for plants with healing characteristics. Examples of entheogens are Amanita muscaria and ayahuasca. Kindly visit iamshaman.com if you want to know more about these. They provide quality specimens, for whatever purpose ( ornamental or as incense components). They get these from organic herbal farmers or those indigenous tribes in Africa and Brazilian rainforests. If you are interested with these kinds of plants, you know where to look. Just visit iamshaman.com and you might just find what you’re looking for.

going strong

I am just so happy that me and my sweetie is going strong despite our recent “episodes”. I know for sure that someday we would be married and be able to build our own family. It really is just a matter of time. We are both working on it. I just really hope that we would be able to save as much money as we can for our wedding and our future house.

foreign artists

There are a lot of foreign artists visiting the country. There’s Ne-yo, Maroon 5, Colbie Caillat, Mandy Moore, etc. Our country is very fortunate to have these world class artists. I also believe that these artists are also fortunate to have Filipino fans that really are into music and take patronage of their craft. It’s just unfortunate that they have expensive tickets to their concerts, although I heard Colbie would be at the Trinoma activity center on Mar 11. I hope I can catch her there.

Just a note to myself

I hope I can do these stuff in the coming weeks ahead.

Visit Oceanarium. I have the penchant for the underwater life forms. I have always loved snorkeling and spend time just watching fishes and corals and all those interesting underwater creatures. I guess that’s why I bought an underwater camera, to capture those underwater moments.

Visit the Ikea shop. I just came across an article which lead me to a multiply site of an Ikea distributor shop here in QC. I grew up with Ikea magazines which my dad brings home yearly and have always dreamed of having those Ikea goodies

Go on a Corregidor Tour. I have always wanted to do this. I could opt for a day tour. I’m a bit scared sleeping alone in that island since they say there are a lot of ghosts there.

Go to Puerto Galera or Anilao and try out my underwater camera. It has been with me for around 3 months already and I haven’t even tried it. Loser!

Have my Olympus camera repaired. I really miss using my favorite camera.

getting ready

I have to admit that I sometimes start to get tired of waiting for that time when I’ll get married and have a family of my own. I really want to have my own kids already. I admit getting jealous of friends who have already. Well, I know it’s not easy being a mom since you will be responsible for another life form, but I know how much happiness a baby can bring. I know it will be all worth it.

There really are a lot of challenges being a mom and raising up kids. I have heard several horror stories about breastfeeding and how much it sometimes hurt. Some would rather clean and sterilize baby feeding bottle rather than have their nipples get bitten and sucked furiously by their little rascal. One would really be tempted to settle for bottle feeding, although of course, there really are a lot of benefits when you breast feed. Well, I hope I can endure the pain of breast feeding and do it for as long as I can before I shift to bottle feeding.

Oh well. I know I’m thinking way ahead. I know it would take around 2 years or more before I have to actually face those issues. Anyway, it pays to be ready, right?

another baptism

I’ve got another baptism to go to in awhile. Looks like I’m getting invited to a lot of weddings, baptisms, and friend’s children’s party. I guess it’s another sign that I’m getting old. Anyway, I still have to do some last minute shopping for the baptism. I’m thinking of getting baby clothes instead or probably diaper supplies. Since the baby is still young, she won’t be able to appreciate toys yet so it’s better to just give practical things instead.

new habit

I remember when I was a kid, I had the habit of reading these bible stories from those kiddie books that my mom has bought for us. It is a whole set with big letters and colorful illustrations which makes them more fun to read. I guess having these books makes it really fun and enjoyable, and actually something to look forward to for kids to read. I doubt if kids would enjoy reading the normal bible. But at least through these books, kids are opened up to the gospels as well as readings from the bible and make them aware of God’s teachings. Up until now, I can still remember all the stories of all those included in that set of kiddie bible books bought by my mom. Well, I actually miss reading the bible. I know sometimes when I’m undergoing some tough times and I turn to the Bible, it usually gives some answers and have verses which help me understand what I’m going through and help me how to deal with it. Since I'm usually online, I guess I can start to develop the habit of reading some verses on an Online Bible. That would be a nice way to start a day. It's really great that there are Bible Online available already.

car insurance

Are you thinking of buying a new car? Well, I have been dreaming for the longest time to have one myself. Even if I’m currently scared of driving, I guess when I actually have my own car, my desire to drive would pick up. I guess in getting a car, it’s important to get car insurance. At least you’ll be covered in case (well, hopefully you won’t) get into any kind of car accident. It really scares me when talking about these things since getting into a car accident is really one of my fears why I dislike driving.

Anyway, in case you have a car and no car insurance yet, I really suggest you get one. Read more about the benefits of having one. Get car insurance quotes and compare them so that you would be able to get the best deal out there. Getting a car insurance quote is usually free so just make sure you explore first what are available. Driving a car with insurance somehow give you peace of mind. I know how expensive it can get to have a car fixed especially if the extent of the repair is grave. It can really ruin your budget. You wouldn’t want to subject yourself to handling that kind of hassle and trouble yourself where to get money to have your car fixed.
