The first step

At one time my boyfriend had a subtle addiction to coffee. No, it didn’t get to a point wherein he got into a drug rehab for caffeine, silly. Those days, he just can’t get away from it and he has to get his fill of 3 cups a day. At one time he could even go more than that when for most people, one is already enough. He said to me that there’s really nothing wrong with having more than the average. I realized it was a form of addiction when he was a little irritable and stressed when he didn’t have it at the right time. That’s when it dawned on me that he had been in denial that there was some sort of chemical imbalance in his system. At first it was hard for him to swallow but he took it well and he doesn’t need coffee anymore even if he works on night shift.

A drug treatment center will always emphasize that admission to oneself that there is a problem is the most difficult but most important part of the recovery process. StopYourAddiction is a referral service that truly keeps this part in mind. The alcoholism rehab has a five-stage cleansing and self-control process rolled into a 28-day program. The service isn’t out for any profit and is worth mentioning to people you know that may be in need of help.
